So far this recipe book adventure has been incredibly fun and a whole lot of yum! All of the photos for the book are finalised and now the book is in the hands of an amazing graphic designer. You can see how beautiful the photos are, look at those strawberry and almond bars. Ohhh ahhhh, they do look good.
This project has grown much larger than I ever imagined. Initially I thought that I would release a e-book, but as I wrote the content about leading a real food lifestyle and spent more time on the book it started to grow bigger and better. I then started to think that this project should not only have awesome information and amazing recipes but the images should be incredible too. In the beginning I considered taking the photos myself, but I knew that I wanted something special and photography is not really my forte.
I was so lucky to meet Jo for Luminous Kitchen, who is a incredibly talented food stylist and photographer, and not only that but she is a pretty awesome chick. By chance Jo lives in my neighbourhood which made working together really easy. Jo was really keen and got it all happening right away, which I loved because she was as motivated as I was. Right from the beginning we clicked and had the same vision for the images, so everything just flowed really easily.
We had lots fun in the kitchen and ate tons of nice food in between photo shoots like this raw carrot cake with cashew cream. Not all went 100% smoothly, I have learned it is really difficult to make eggs look nice on camera. We also went out and about and took lifestyle photos at the beach, park and farmers markets, which turned out beautifully. Mackenzie my daughter joined me on a dream picnic which was heaps of fun and she was the perfect model, even though she turned up with aboriginal paint on her face from kindy! Who would know.
So what is this book about?
The first part of the book is about having a real food lifestyle. I talk about why you should cut out processed food, what the benefits are and how to do it. I am a really practical person, so you can expect to find tips that will help you on a day-to-day basis manage a real food lifestyle.
The second part of the book is full of over 40 delicious gluten, sugar and dairy free recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. I have created recipes that are simple but tasty, you do not have to be a chef to enjoy these amazing dishes, just a home cook like I am. All of the recipes have been tested by my secret squirrels who are home cooks and even chefs from all over the world.
When will the book be released?
The book is due to be released at the beginning of November 2014. It will be available for pre-sale in September 2014 in both e-book and hard copy. If you want a hard copy we will be delivering it anywhere in the world.
